McPeak Bacon's Music Player – Privacy Policy
Effective date: 20 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how McPeak Bacon's Music Player for macOS (the "App") handles information. It supplements the general McPeak Bacon Software Privacy Policy.
1. Company Name and Legal Entity
McPeak Bacon and McPeak Bacon Software are brand, marketing, and product distribution names used for our apps and services. The business currently operates as the sole trader Bryce Daniel Bacon (ABN 73 321 707 296). When this Policy mentions McPeak Bacon, McPeak Bacon Software, "we", "us", or "our", those references mean Bryce Daniel Bacon trading under that ABN, acting under the jurisdiction of the Australian Federal Government, in accordance with those levels of government, down to and including the state government in which McPeak Bacon operates (Victoria, Australia or the Victorian Government).
2. Summary
We collect nothing. The App has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, and no crash reporting. It never sends your information to McPeak Bacon, because there is nowhere for it to send it to.
3. Information We Collect
None. McPeak Bacon does not collect, receive, transmit, sell, or share any personal information through the App.
4. Information Stored On Your Device
The App stores the following locally on your Mac, inside its own application support folder. This data never leaves your device except where you yourself are signing in to a third-party service.
- Your third-party sign-in session — the cookies created when you sign in to your music provider, held in an isolated browser profile so the App does not have to ask you to sign in every launch. These are the provider's cookies, readable only by the App and the provider.
- Window preferences — the playbar's position, width, last-opened panel, and always-on-top setting.
- Standard browser cache — the ordinary web cache used by the embedded browser view to load pages and artwork.
You can delete all of it at any time by removing the App and its application support folder. Deleting that folder signs you out and resets all preferences.
5. Credentials
The App never asks for, sees, intercepts, stores, or transmits your username, password, or two-factor codes. Sign-in takes place directly between you and your provider inside the embedded browser view, exactly as it would in a normal browser window.
6. Third-Party Services
When you sign in and play music, you are communicating directly with a third-party provider (for example, YouTube Music, operated by Google LLC). That provider will receive your requests, your account activity, your IP address, and other information in accordance with its own privacy policy, over which McPeak Bacon has no control and for which McPeak Bacon accepts no responsibility. Please review that provider's privacy policy.
McPeak Bacon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any such provider.
7. Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising
The App contains no analytics SDK, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting, and no third-party marketing code of any kind. We do not build profiles of users and we do not perform any tracking across apps or websites.
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because the App collects no information at all, no such information can be held by us.
9. Security
Locally stored data is protected by the security of your macOS user account and the App's isolated browser profile. As no data is transmitted to or held by McPeak Bacon, there is no McPeak Bacon-side store of your information that could be breached.
10. Your Rights
Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), gives you rights to access and correct personal information held about you. Because we hold no personal information about App users, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or erase. Requests relating to data held by a third-party music provider must be directed to that provider.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above will be updated when we do.
